Dice Scry

D&D Dice for Every Class

Your dice are part of your character. A barbarian rolling soft pastels feels a little off, and a wizard rolling plain black dice is missing a trick. Matching the set to the class is one of the easiest ways to make a character feel real at the table.

Below is a pick for each of the twelve classes in the Player's Handbook. These are suggestions, not rules: the best set is the one you love picking up. Every set here is a full seven-dice kit: D4, D6, D8, D10, D00, D12 and D20.

A quick tip before you choose: whatever the look, make sure you can read the numbers from across the table. A dramatic set you have to squint at gets old fast.

I

Barbarian

Rage needs color. Deep reds and burnt oranges look like fire and blood, and solid or speckled finishes stand up to being slammed on the table.

II

Bard

Bards love an audience, so go loud: bright mixes and rainbow swirls that look different every time they land.

III

Cleric

Light, gold and bone: warm whites and golds suit a character who channels a god, and they read clearly.

IV

Druid

Moss, leaves and stone. Greens with a natural, speckled or swirled finish feel like they were picked up on a forest floor.

V

Fighter

Steel and leather: dark, solid dice with crisp numbers. No fuss, just reliable rolls.

VI

Monk

Calm and balanced: clean, solid colors with simple numbers suit a character built on discipline.

VII

Paladin

Shining armor and holy oaths. Blue or white dice with gold numbers look like a knight's colors.

VIII

Ranger

Earthy greens and browns for a character who lives on the trail and blends into the trees.

IX

Rogue

Black, smoky and quiet. Dark dice suit a character who would rather not be noticed.

X

Sorcerer

Magic in the blood. Glittering, see-through reds and purples look like power that is barely kept in check.

XI

Warlock

Deep purples and shadowy swirls for a character who made a deal with something old and strange.

XII

Wizard

A galaxy in your hand: see-through dice with sparkle suspended inside look like they came straight out of a spellbook.
